ABOUT

Our Mission

Igniting imagination and fostering a love for the performing arts, LRC Stage Productions bring stories to life on stage to enlighten, entertain, and inspire. At the heart of LRC is a passion for artistic excellence and a commitment to instilling confidence in each performer. We are dedicated to the magic of transformation - both on stage and within each performer who joins our family.

Through uniquely crafted costume and set design, we aim to build a world that transports our audience beyond their imagination. We are deeply committed to our performers, instilling confidence in each individual no matter their experience level. Theater is so much more behind the curtains with LRC - it’s an experience that create bonds and a new level of self-discovery that will last a lifetime.

Core Values

Inclusivity

Everyone is a star - no matter their role on stage. We celebrate the unique talents each person brings to the team, ensuring a vibrant environment where together everyone can shine.

Personal Growth

By stepping into different characters’ shoes and working collaboratively in a team, individuals expand their creativity, self-confidence, and communication skills which can be brought into the real world.

Education

Our supportive and knowledgeable team is dedicated to educating individuals about the fundamentals of theater from technical voice training to stage presence to global theater terminology that even the professionals use.

“LRC does an incredible job working with young actors! She works hard and expects the same from every actor who comes to her. She empowers and inspires kids to reach further, try harder and be better every time they sing, act, dance, or just get out onto the stage.”

Our Journey

Laura Canfield has played many roles over the course of her theater life – actor, director, teacher and producer. While her children were young, Laura began giving piano lessons in her Foxboro home.  As her children grew, she successfully lobbied to bring theater into their elementary school.  The success of the program led to the development of theatrical programs  in the other Foxboro elementary schools in town as well as the middle school.

After many years of directing musicals for Foxboro Public Schools and other local towns, Laura Canfield founded her own production company in 2017. The focus of LRC Stage Productions is give children of all ages a chance to learn about the world of professional theater and the many options available to them in that world.  LRC Stage Productions is known for providing participants with the experience and opportunity that matches their strengths and aspirations. The philosophy that everyone has an equal role in the success of the show is central to LRC Stage Productions.  Every role, from ensemble to lead, from props manager to backstage help, is imperative to the team’s success.

Laura’s goal with LRC Stage Productions is to introduce children to the love of theater and help them find their place in it – on stage, back stage or in the audience. Igniting imagination and fostering a love for the performing arts, LRC Stage Productions bring stories to life on stage to enlighten, entertain, and inspire.

LRC hires professionals for every part of the production from sound & lighting to costume & set design. LRC is one of the few small, local theater companies with a professional choreographer and music director on staff. The choice of Marilyn Rodman Performing Arts Center (MRPAC) as our home theater is no accident. Small and intimate, with all amenities including a staff focusing on community, the theater has become a second home to many of LRC’s students.
